Mechanical Engineers beyond the Arctic Circle!
On September, our pedagogical staff, PhD students and students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering took part in a research trip to Norway, where they visited UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Narvik. The aim of the mobility was to gain new knowledge in the field of green industrial technologies and to practically incorporate them into the teaching process with subsequent application for industry. The partners from Norway prepared a rich program for our employees and students, which included a tour of the laboratories (Augmented Reality Laboratory, Laboratory for Robotics and Robotic Welding, Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing), a certified course Industry X.0 and a course focused on the practical application of green technologies in the production of metal parts. Our staff and students enriched this mobility with expert lectures and presentations of their research and theses, which showed the positive side of our university. In their free time, the mobility participants got to know the surroundings of Narvik, which offers many beautiful natural phenomena and sceneries.
